Each Unit will be allocated one tablet device at the Subcamp HQ, and the device must be signed for by a Jamboree Scout Leader.
Units are expected to use the tablet devices for:
- Checking daily schedules and announcements. See 8.3 Jamboree News
- Submitting feedback on activities and overall experience. See 10.12 ParticipantPulse (Copy).
- Viewing the programs and activities for the day. See 7.5.4 Your Choice
- Choosing meal options for the Unit members. See 3.5 CAKE.
Units are responsible for the care and maintenance of the devices, including safe storage when not in use.
Each device will block inappropriate downloads, block websites / apply blanket parental guidance as well tracking usage, battery life indicator and location.
Charging
- Charging of devices will be on a "swap & go" basis via Subcamp HQ.
- The Subcamp HQ team will record details of devices returned and charged devices issued.
- Units may recharge the tablet on their campsite if they have the means (note charging leads are not provided).
Support and Troubleshooting
- A dedicated technical support team will be available on-site and via the helpdesk to assist with any issues related to the tablets.
- In case of device malfunction, damage or loss, a limited number of replacement devices will be available (subject to availability and approval).
- Damage or loss will require formal reporting to the Subcamp HQ.
At the end of the event
- All tablets must be returned to the Subcamp HQ at the end of the event.
- Devices will be checked for damage and functionality before sign-off.
- Units will be asked to provide feedback on their experience using the tablets, which will inform future
improvements.
