A Scout Cares for the Environment, so the planning of AJ2025 has been guided by sustainable thinking.

Here are some of the great concepts we have in place:

• Over 80% of our portable buildings are fold-flat, so that up to ten can be stacked on a truck, significantly reducing the number of trucks transporting equipment to and from the Jamboree!
• As well as normal rubbish, there are lots of bins for recycling and 10c returnables (containers for change). The recycling will be sorted on-site to maximise the return of recyclable items to the appropriate places in the community.  Make sure you use the right bin!
• There's no paper newspaper - each Unit is being supplied with a tablet for news distribution. 
• Our portable lighting plants are all hybrid diesel/solar units to reduce fuel use and emissions.
• Our main generation units are supported by Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).  So what?  We can use smaller generators and they don't need to run continuously - reducing fuel use and emissions!
• We have reduced the data cabling needs significantly through the use of Yabbit VoIP, StarLink satellite, direct fibre-optic cable connections and 4G/5G.
