As with usual Scouting activities, all accidents and illnesses should initially be treated in lines with the Unit First Aid Kit.
For more serious incidents, First Aid stations are located at each Subcamp, each activity base & on the mall.
The First Aid Stations are staffed as follows:
The Jamboree has a well-equipped 24/7 medical centre, staffed by doctors and nurses and supported by an allied health team providing emergency dental, pharmacy and physiotherapy care.
Cases requiring specialist care or longer term treatment may be transported to the nearby public hospital.
During First Aid hours, please report to a first aid station first, not directly to the medical centre.
If you need to call an ambulance, dial 4333 1500 and give them clear directions to your location. Please do not call Triple Zero (000), as that will actually be slower than calling the onsite services.
Ambulance services are free of charge for Queensland residents.
If you are visiting from outside of Queensland, you are responsible for the cost of services and are required to pay the invoice in full. In some cases your private health insurance or state ambulance service may cover this cost. Further details for each state including details of where to pay invoices or claim from your own state ambulance service can be found at https://www.qld.gov.au/emergency/emergencies-services/qld-visitors-qas.
