All Swap’n’Go cylinders have a sticker to indicate they have been filled and tested for leaks prior to use.
New Gas Cylinder Valves and Connectors
The valves on gas cylinders and the connectors for gas appliances (e.g., regulators & hoses) are transitioning to a new standard and type of valve/fitting - from the traditional "POL" fitting to a new "LCC27" valve/fitting. The gas cylinders provided at AJ2025 may have a mixture of POL & LCC27 fittings.
Gas appliances with the traditional POL fitting, in good order, CAN CONTINUE TO BE USED with the new cylinder valves, screwing in anticlockwise. However, appliances that have the new LCC27 Fitting will ONLY CONNECT to the new cylinder valves, screwing on clockwise.
There will be plenty of Swap'n'Go cylinders onsite with the new valves, just make sure you specify if you need an LCC27 cylinder when swapping.
Safety
LPG gas is highly flammable and there are a number of potential hazards with LPG gas. These include frost burns, asphyxiation from gas in an enclosed space, fire and explosion.
All gas appliances and fittings must be checked for correct operation prior to the camp and must comply with AGA guidelines (no homemade fittings or appliances). Refer to separate Gas Safety sheet for more information.
In an emergency - call the Emergency Number on your ID Card and then contact the Subcamp Leader.
