Gateways can be a memorable part of the Jamboree experience.  Many Jamboree veterans have fond memories of their own gateway and a photo collection of creative gateways from all over the site.  How can you make your home campsite more amazing for AJ2025?

There will be a Gateway competition in each Subcamp.  Get creative!

  • Each Unit campsite should have a distinguishable gateway in an appropriate position for access to the campsite from the main adjoining accessway.
  • On the gateway there should be an easily read sign stating who is camped at the site (Contingent, State etc.) and the campsite number.
  • The gateway can be of any design you like (but must be of safe and practical construction).
  • Some timber will be provided by the Jamboree for gateways (approx. 6 lengths of 70x35mm pine) and Unit Leaders should consider what additional materials they can bring to the Jamboree.
  • Some form of "fence" to mark your perimeter is recommended, so that visitors know how to enter via the "front door".  Whilst the fence can be made of any material you like, it must be easily visible and at a height that will not cause a trip hazard.
  • All gateways and fencing must be easily recognised at night so as not to present a hazard, and are not to impinge on access ways.
  • Any star pickets must be topped with protective caps.
