1 | Conditions of Entry to the 26th Australian Jamboree (AJ2025) Site | |
1.1 | The right of admission or access to the AJ2025 site (the Maryborough Showgrounds and Equestrian Park) is reserved in its entirety from 01/12/2024 to 25/01/2025. | |
1.2 | The Jamboree Executive Committee reserve the right to refuse entry to, or to remove from the AJ2025 site, any person or persons for any reason, in particular, those who are intoxicated, disorderly or whose conduct is unlawful, offensive or who are not entitled* to attend the Jamboree. Any person or persons who cause a disturbance or who refuse to comply with reasonable and lawful requests from Safety & Security, may be removed from the AJ2025 site. | |
1.3 | Unauthorised persons are prohibited from entering the AJ2025 site and any other area not accessible by the public during a visitors day. | |
1.4 | Participants or Visitors must not wear or display commercial, political, religious (other than for personal observance) or offensive signage or logos, sell any goods or services or give away political, religious, advertising or promotional materials including food or drink, without the prior written approval of the Chief Director. | |
1.5 | Participants or Visitors who are, in the opinion of Safety & Security, offensively attired or whose attire may cause a hazard or compromise either their safety or the safety of others, may be refused entry onto the AJ2025 site. | |
1.6 | Bags and other items may be subject to inspection and may be searched as a condition of entry to the site. Participants or Visitors who refuse inspections or searches may be denied entry to the AJ2025 site. | |
1.7 | Items which, in the opinion of Safety & Security, have the potential to cause injury, a nuisance or inconvenience to any other person will not be permitted onto the AJ2025 site. These include controlled, dangerous or illegal substances, cans, glass bottles, flares, fireworks, laser pointers, loud hailers and weapons of any description and may include certain musical instruments and any other items considered by Safety & Security to have the potential to cause injury, a nuisance or inconvenience to any other person. | |
1.8 | Passes-out may be issued at the discretion of Safety & Security for Participants or Visitors temporarily needing to leave the AJ2025 site. | |
1.9 | Alcoholic beverages must not be taken onto the AJ2025 site. It is an offence for minors to purchase or consume alcohol or for persons to supply alcohol to minors. Additional information for Leaders/Adults storing purchased alcohol is available in the Behaviour Policies section of the Jamboree Handbooks. | |
1.10 | Deliveries from external caterers or goods providers will not be permitted onto the AJ2025 site (unless previously authorised by Safety & Security) e.g., Dominos, Uber, Menulog, DoorDash. | |
1.11 | Persons using camera equipment to capture video, images or sound, who are found to be using that equipment inappropriately, will be detained and handed over to on-site Queensland Police Service. | |
1.12 | Participants and Visitors are not permitted to transmit, broadcast, sell, license or otherwise publish, disseminate or reproduce any recordings (including, without limitation, photographic, video or sound recordings) of the Jamboree without the prior written approval of the Chief Director. Such recordings may be confiscated or erased. Any recordings or recording devices which are confiscated will be handed over to on-site Queensland Police Service. This excludes lawful and appropriate social media materials published by Participants. | |
1.13 | Participants and Visitors acknowledge that Scouts Queensland may use their image or likeness as part of any captured image or recording of the Jamboree, including to promote the Jamboree and Scouts Queensland. Participants and Visitors consent to such use. | |
1.14 | Umbrellas and wet weather gear is permitted on the AJ2025 site however, umbrellas must not be opened or raised in the main arena seating area at any time. | |
1.15 | Coolers, prams, pushers, bags and other belongings must be able to be carried and or managed by the Participant or Visitor for the entire time on-site – there are no cloaking services. These items are subject to inspection by Safety & Security. | |
1.16 | Participants and Visitors assume all risk of any damage or loss (including property damage, personal injury, economic and consequential loss) however it arises on the AJ2025 site, at the off-site parking location and at all times when in transit between these locations. Participants and Visitors bring personal effects onto the AJ2025 site at their own risk. Scouts Queensland will not be responsible for any damage to, or loss, or theft of a Participants or Visitors personal property. | |
1.17 | Under the Tobacco and Other Smoking Products Act 1998 (Qld) smoking is prohibited in all non-designated areas of the AJ2025 site. Adults who smoke on the site, in an area not designated for smoking: 1.17.1 commit an offence against the Act, to which fines apply; and 1.17.2 may be immediately evicted from the site. Designated smoking areas will be marked on the AJ2025 site map and will be primarily in areas only accessed by Adults, for example: 1.17.3 each Contingent Headquarters; 1.17.4 each Sub Camp Headquarters; 1.17.5 the Leaders Eatery; 1.17.6 the Witches Hat Building; and 1.17.7 the Main Arena (back of house). In Queensland, vapes and electronic cigarette products containing nicotine are illegal unless on prescription and supplied by a pharmacist or through Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) processes. Vapes are smoking products and subject to the same laws as tobacco or cigarettes. | |
1.18 | Participants and Visitors must wear their issued identification tag or wristband at all times whilst on-site or on-board Jamboree buses. This identification is to be worn on the outside of all clothing, visible to everyone at all times | |
1.19 | Participants and Visitors may not be admitted if their identification tag or wristband appears damaged or defaced or their tag or wristband has not been obtained on legitimate grounds. | |
1.20 | Contractors, Vendors, VIP’s, Media, etc., must remain wearing their issued identification lanyard and tag at all times on-site. This may be tucked inside clothing apparel if working conditions dictate that the lanyard may get caught in machinery, etc., however, must be displayed on request by Safety & Security or any other person wishing to verify their approval to be on-site. Note: Contracted entertainers are not expected to be wearing their identification lanyard and tag when performing in the main arena. | |
1.21 | The AJ2025 site may be closed due to dangerous situations, adverse weather or for any other cause beyond the control of Scouts Queensland. In this case no claim for reimbursement of Participant or Visitor fee will be permitted. | |
1.22 | Vehicles accessing the AJ2025 site may be subject to search at any time by Safety & Security. Failure to allow a vehicle search may result in the denial of access to the AJ2025 site. Upon entering the AJ2025 site, vehicle owners accept that one of the conditions of leaving the site, is to open their vehicle for inspection upon request by Safety & Security. | |
1.23 | For safety reasons, personal gas bottles of all shapes and sizes will not be permitted onto the AJ2025 site. Only authorised gas supplies from the contracted supplier may be utilised on-site. |
