A comprehensive Traffic Management Plan is in place for AJ2025. Here are some important highlights:

  • There is no pedestrian access to the Jamboree site. All pedestrians will be assumed to have parked illegally nearby (there is no street parking nearby).
  • Everyone coming onto the site must be transported by their Contingent or another authorised Jamboree vehicle.
  • A parking permit does not permit access for a vehicle to drive onto the site.
  • In most areas pedestrian have priority over vehicles.
  • The site speed limit is 10kph Shared Zone walking pace for all vehicles (including scooters, e-scooters, skateboards, bicycles and other mobility devices).
  • Personal/Unit trailers may be dropped off at the site between 14 December and 29 December 2024 (excluding Christmas Day 25 December).
  • Contingent Buses must follow designated routes (A, B or C) as per their specific dropoff instructions, adhering to signage requirements.


Rules for Driving Vehicles

The following rules apply to the operation of all types of service vehicles including (but not limited to); Forklifts, People Movers, Company or Private Vehicles/Buses, Other Company Vehicles and Armoured Vehicles:

  • Anyone driving and operating vehicles or equipment must do so in a safe manner
  • Vehicles must comply with all speed limits. Where unsigned, the speed limits published by the Jamboree will apply. 
  • Pre-operational safety checks must be conducted for vehicles and equipment
  • Damaged, faulty or unserviceable equipment must not be used and the defective piece of equipment must be immediately ‘tagged out’ and reported at the first instance to your Team Leader or Director
  • Only personnel licensed and authorised to operate designated equipment are permitted to do so
  • Designated and marked roadways, where available, must always be used when operating equipment
  • Traffic signs and directional markings must be adhered to at all times
  • Mounting/dismounting a moving vehicle is prohibited at all times
  • Riding on, or carrying passengers on vehicles or equipment without an approved seat is strictly prohibited – no seat, no ride
  • Equipment must always be parked in designated parking areas and kept behind equipment lines when not in use
  • Vehicle engines must be switched off when unattended unless specified by relevant equipment and standard operating procedures
  • When approaching a blind or obstructed corner the operator/driver must proceed with caution at walking pace
  • Where a load or obstacle impedes or blocks the view of the operator, the operator must engage a spotter
  • Appropriate PPE must be worn at all times
  • Pedestrian walkways must be kept clear of obstacles at all times


Additional Rules for Buggy/Golf Car Driving

  • Under no circumstances is any person to ride on the sides or rear tray of a buggy or golf car or be standing in a golf car or buggy (No Seat = No Ride)
  • Only 18+ personnel are to be riding on board a buggy or golf car (excluding for medical transport and excluding Venturer Scout Services Leaders performing official duties)
  • It is the responsibility of the entity loaned an electric car to charge it for daily use
  • It is the responsibility of the entity loaned a petrol car to keep it refuelled – fuel available from the SafeTrans Yard on-site
  • All personnel must wear a seatbelt if one is fitted
  • Only buggies or golf cars with lights fitted by the manufacturer are permitted to be used outside daylight hours
  • Accidents and occurrences involving any buggy or golf car must be reported to SafeTrans immediately
  • Each buggy or golf car will be issued a number sign for the Jamboree – these must not be removed or their view obstructed at any time
  • Decorating of buggies/golf cars for Jamboree theming is permitted – however the buggy/golf car sign must not be obstructed and low tack adhesive must be carefully applied
  • A buggy or golf car may be impounded if being operated in contravention of this plan and/or a driver may have their access privileges terminated
